Deadly Bandit Attack in Plateau State Leaves Seven Dead

Eyewitnesses have reported a night of terror in Bong village, Doemak District, Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State, as gun-wielding attackers launched a brutal assault on residents while they were asleep.

According to locals, the assailants, locally referred to as bandits, went from house to house, leaving women, children, and the elderly particularly vulnerable. The attack, which occurred on Friday night, claimed the lives of at least seven people, with several others sustaining injuries.

Authorities have yet to release an official statement on the incident, but security operatives are reportedly on the ground investigating the attack and providing assistance to the victims.

This latest incident highlights the persistent security challenges in parts of Plateau State, where communities have increasingly faced violent raids and banditry.
