German Business Delegation to Visit Nigeria for Two-Week Consultations

A high-level delegation from the IHK Giessen-Friedberg Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Germany, led by Dr. Matthias Leder, is set to arrive in Nigeria on November 2 for a two-week consultation with government officials and the Nigerian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA). The visit aims to strengthen and deepen economic partnerships between Nigeria and Germany.

During their stay, the delegation is expected to hold discussions with six federal ministers, officials from various chambers of commerce at national and subnational levels, and other key public and private sector stakeholders. The visit will last until November 14.

This upcoming mission is a continuation of the delegation’s previous visit in February, which included engagements with top government officials such as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, as well as private sector leaders.

Speaking at a virtual press conference on Thursday, Dr. Leder highlighted that over the past two years, IHK Giessen-Friedberg has conducted two official missions annually to Nigeria, while Nigeria’s former Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has participated twice in Giessen’s prestigious international B2B conference, “The World Meets in Giessen,” once as a keynote speaker and once as a panellist.

Dr. Leder noted that these sustained engagements have significantly enhanced mutual understanding between Nigeria and Germany, creating new opportunities for investment, trade, and skills transfer.
