United Nigeria Airlines to Launch Direct Abuja, Lagos–Accra Flights in November 2025

Nigerian carrier, United Nigeria Airlines (UNA), is set to achieve a major milestone in its expansion journey with the commencement of its inaugural regional flight operations on Monday, November 10, 2025. The airline will launch a direct, non-stop service connecting Abuja and Lagos to Accra, Ghana.

According to the airline, Flight NUA 0590 will take off from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 10:35 a.m., and land at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra, marking a new phase in West African air connectivity and airline competitiveness.

United Nigeria Airlines, which commenced domestic commercial operations in 2021, described the forthcoming service as historic—being a capital-to-capital direct route operated by a Nigerian carrier.

“This milestone underscores United Nigeria Airlines’ commitment to fostering regional integration, boosting trade and tourism, and promoting cultural exchange across West Africa,” the airline stated. “The Accra service is also our first international operation since we began flights in February 2021.”

The new route is seen as a strategic step that aligns with the airline’s mission to “unite” people, markets, and economies across the continent. Aviation analysts say the development could strengthen Nigeria’s presence in the regional aviation market, currently dominated by a few established carriers.

The inaugural flight is expected to draw attention from aviation stakeholders, government officials, and business leaders who view improved regional connectivity as key to economic growth in the West African sub-region.
