Elon Musk Becomes World’s First $638 Billion Man

Elon Musk, Chief Executive Officer of Tesla, has made history by becoming the first person in the world to attain a net worth of $638 billion, according to the latest figures from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI).

Data from the index reveal a widening gap between the South African-born American billionaire and other global business magnates. Musk’s fortune surged by 42.7 per cent within one year, from December 2024, driven by strong performances across his major business interests, including Tesla and other technology ventures.

With a net worth of $638 billion, Musk now commands more than double the wealth of the world’s second-richest person, Larry Page, who is valued at $265 billion—a difference of approximately 140.75 per cent.

Google co-founder Sergey Brin and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos follow closely in third and fourth positions, each with an estimated net worth of $246 billion. Oracle founder Larry Ellison ranks fifth at $238 billion.

Rounding out the top ten are Mark Zuckerberg with $229 billion, luxury goods tycoon Bernard Arnault at $202 billion, former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer with $166 billion, Nvidia chief Jensen Huang at $153 billion, and veteran investor Warren Buffett, whose fortune stands at $152 billion.

Musk’s record-breaking wealth milestone further cements his position as the most influential and financially powerful entrepreneur of the modern era, highlighting the growing dominance of technology-driven businesses in shaping global wealth.
