Resident Doctors Begin Five-Day Warning Strike Over Welfare Demands
The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has today commenced a five-day warning strike, following the expiration of its fresh ultimatum to the Federal Government over unpaid allowances, salary arrears, and unresolved welfare concerns.
The association said the industrial action became inevitable after what it described as the government’s failure to address long-standing demands affecting its members nationwide.
NARD leadership noted that the strike is a warning action and urged the government to take urgent steps to avert a full-scale nationwide shutdown of medical services.
Hospitals across the country are expected to be affected, raising fears of disruption in patient care, especially in federal and state-owned health institutions.
