Tinubu Directs Ibas to Prepare Handover Notes to Fubara

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed retired Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, to prepare comprehensive handover notes to Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State. The directive comes as part of efforts to ensure a smooth and transparent transition of responsibilities in ongoing federal–state collaborative projects within the region.

According to the Presidency, the move is aimed at fostering continuity in governance and strengthening the partnership between federal agencies and the Rivers State government. Ibas, who has been overseeing certain strategic interventions in the Niger Delta, is expected to outline key achievements, pending projects, and challenges in his report.

Governor Fubara, on his part, is expected to receive the handover documents in the coming days. Analysts view the directive as a step toward promoting accountability, avoiding project duplication, and ensuring that state administrations are properly briefed on federal engagements.

The Presidency emphasized that the measure aligns with President Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda, which prioritizes transparency, collaboration, and sustainable development across all regions of Nigeria.
