Ukraine Considers Restricting Mobile Internet to Counter Russian Drone Attacks

Category: News |
Nigeria TV Info – Ukraine may deliberately restrict the quality of mobile communications during Russian drone attacks in an effort to disrupt enemy operations, according to the country’s Chief of the General Staff, Andriy Hnatov.

Speaking to the Ukrainian video channel Novyny Live on Sunday, Hnatov clarified that the measure would not completely cut off services but instead temporarily reduce network speed. “This is not a disruption of mobile communications, but rather a restriction on the quality of communications in certain areas, like a restriction on 4G and 5G communication,” he explained.

Hnatov noted that the goal is to prevent Russian drones from exploiting Ukraine’s mobile networks to transmit live images or coordinate strikes. “So that the modems they use on their unmanned aerial vehicles cannot access the internet of our communications operators,” he added.
