Defamation Charges: Natasha Accuses FG of Double Standard

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has accused the Federal Government of operating with double standards in handling defamation cases. Speaking on Monday, Natasha argued that while some government officials are quick to pursue defamation charges against critics, others within the administration enjoy unchecked protection despite making damaging remarks.

She stressed that such selective justice undermines democracy and erodes public confidence in the rule of law. Natasha further urged the government to apply the law equally, noting that freedom of expression should not be suppressed through intimidation or biased prosecution.
