Voice of Reason Has Prevailed Over Tyranny, Says Atiku as Natasha Returns to Senate

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has hailed the reinstatement of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to the Senate, describing the development as “a triumph of reason over tyranny.”

Atiku, in a statement on Tuesday, said the return of the Kogi Central lawmaker was not only a victory for democracy but also a testament to the resilience of the Nigerian people against what he termed “forces of oppression.”

He commended the judiciary for upholding justice, stressing that Nigeria’s democracy can only thrive when institutions act independently and resist political pressure.

Senator Natasha, who was previously sacked by the Court of Appeal, was on Monday cleared to resume her mandate following a ruling that nullified the decision. Her return has been celebrated by her supporters and rights advocates who view the judgment as a step toward strengthening Nigeria’s democratic values.

Atiku urged Nigerians to remain vigilant in defending democracy, warning that tyranny often creeps in when citizens become complacent. He also called on political leaders to respect the will of the people and allow democratic institutions to function without interference.
