Nigeria TV Info â Police Arrest Notorious Beninese Fugitive in Ogun, Hand Over to Interpol Counterparts
The National Central Bureau (NCB) of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) within the Nigeria Police Force has apprehended a notorious Beninese fugitive, identified as Sunday Kotin, in Idi Iroko Town, Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the suspect has been linked to a series of trans-border crimes, including armed banditry, smuggling of firearms and ammunition, cattle rustling, and trafficking in illicit drugs.
Hundeyin disclosed that the fugitive was arrested in a coordinated operation by the NCB-Interpol team and, in line with international protocols, has since been handed over to security counterparts in the Republic of Benin for further investigation and prosecution.
The police assured the public that Nigeria remains committed to collaborating with Interpol and other international partners to combat cross-border crimes and ensure the security of lives and property.
