2027: Jonathan Weighs ADC Option Amid Comeback Reports

Former President Goodluck Jonathan is reportedly considering a return to active politics ahead of the 2027 general elections, with strong indications that he may align with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Sources close to the former president disclosed that consultations are ongoing across political blocs as Jonathan assesses the feasibility of a comeback bid. The move, insiders say, follows growing discontent within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and skepticism over his possible return to the All Progressives Congress (APC), which backed him during the last election cycle.

Party insiders hinted that the ADC, known for its reformist agenda and openness to coalition politics, could offer Jonathan a platform to rally reform-minded politicians and younger voters disillusioned with the two dominant parties.

While Jonathan has yet to make any official statement, his recent meetings with ADC stakeholders in Abuja and Bayelsa have fueled speculation about his next political step.

Political analysts believe Jonathan’s re-entry into the race could significantly reshape the 2027 landscape, particularly in the South-South and Middle Belt regions, where he still commands strong support.

However, some of his former allies caution that a comeback could be politically risky, given the country’s changing political dynamics and public demand for a new generation of leaders.
