Abia’s Monthly Allocation is N15bn, Not N38bn — Otti Replies Deputy Speaker Kalu

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has refuted claims by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, that the state receives ₦38 billion monthly as federal allocation. In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Kazie Uko, Otti clarified that Abia receives around ₦15 billion monthly, including statutory allocations and Value Added Tax (VAT) components. He described Kalu’s remarks as “false and misleading,” urging political leaders to verify figures before making public statements.
Otti further stated that his administration maintains transparency and accountability in managing state funds, emphasizing that his government’s developmental projects are driven by prudent financial planning, not exaggerated allocations.
