Insecurity: Tinubu to Meet Council of State, Police Thursday

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to convene a crucial meeting with the Council of State and the Police High Command on Thursday to address Nigeria’s rising insecurity. The meeting, expected to hold at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, will bring together former Presidents, state governors, service chiefs, and top security advisers.

Aides confirmed that discussions will focus on coordinated responses to kidnappings, banditry, and insurgency, alongside plans to improve police intelligence and border security. The President is also expected to unveil a new national security framework emphasizing inter-agency collaboration and community policing.

The Council of State meeting comes amid mounting public concern over violent crimes and demands for stronger federal action to restore peace across the country.
