Sanwo-Olu Inaugurates 420-Unit Ajara Housing Estate in Badagry, Reserves 20% for Teachers and Civil Servants
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday inaugurated a 420-unit housing estate in Ajara, Badagry â marking the 24th housing estate delivered by his administration in six years.
The governor revealed that 20 percent of the homes in the estate would be reserved for members of the Medical Guild, the Nigerian Union of Teachers (Lagos State Chapter), and civil servants.
Named in honour of the late former Head of Service in Lagos State, Sunny Akinsanya Ajose, the Ajara Housing Estate spans 18.9 hectares and comprises Phase I and Phase II of the development. Phase I, commissioned during the inauguration, includes 35 blocks of 12-in-1 residential buildings.
Each building offers a mix of 1, 2, and 3-bedroom semi-furnished apartments, complete with kitchens, kitchen cabinets, and light fixtures, along with other complimentary facilities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Sanwo-Olu reiterated his commitment to closing the housing gap in Lagos State, saying, âThis event marks the opening of the 24th housing estate brought to life by our administration â a major milestone on our path to creating a Greater Lagos.â
The governor also led other officials in laying the foundation for Phase II of the project, signalling the continuation of the housing initiative in the state.
