Wike Dismisses 2027 Presidential Ambition Rumours, Reaffirms Loyalty to Tinubu

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed widespread rumours linking him to a 2027 presidential bid, insisting that he remains loyal to President Bola Tinubu. Speaking during an inspection tour of ongoing projects in Abuja, Wike described the speculations as baseless distractions aimed at creating division within the administration.

He said his focus remains on delivering Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda through infrastructure development and efficient governance in the capital city. “Those who are talking about 2027 should calm down. I am not thinking about any ambition. My loyalty is to President Tinubu, who gave me this opportunity to serve,” Wike stated.

Political observers note that Wike’s clarification comes amid growing speculation about possible political alignments ahead of the 2027 elections. He emphasized that Nigerians should concentrate on supporting the president’s reforms rather than engaging in premature political debates.
