ADC Warns Against Political Witch-Hunt in Ongoing Coup Probe

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has cautioned the Federal Government and security agencies against turning the ongoing coup investigation into a political witch-hunt. The party expressed concern that recent arrests of senior military officers could be exploited to silence dissenting voices or opposition figures.

In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, the ADC emphasized the importance of transparency, fairness, and adherence to the rule of law throughout the investigation. The party urged the government to avoid actions that could erode public confidence in democratic institutions or provoke unnecessary political tension.

The ADC further called on President Bola Tinubu to ensure that due process is followed and that the rights of all detained officers are respected, stressing that stability and national unity must remain the country’s top priorities.
