NDLEA Arrests Musician, Uncovers Illicit Drug Laboratory in Lagos
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a popular Lagos-based musician and dismantled an illicit drug laboratory allegedly operated under the guise of a music studio in Lekki, Lagos.
According to a statement by NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, operatives stormed the property following intelligence reports linking the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Adewale âSound Boiâ Olatunji, to the production and distribution of synthetic drugs including methamphetamine and ecstasy.
During the raid, large quantities of illicit substances, chemical precursors, and drug manufacturing equipment were recovered. The suspect was said to have been using the studio as a cover for his illegal operations, distributing the substances to clubs and high-profile parties across Lagos and Abuja.
NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd), commended the operatives for their precision and reiterated the agencyâs commitment to dismantling all drug networks, regardless of social status or profession. He added that investigations are ongoing to uncover other accomplices involved in the syndicate.
The arrest has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, with many calling for greater awareness and collaboration between artists and authorities to combat substance abuse and trafficking.
