Trump Claims U.S. Remains Worldâs Strongest Military Power, Hints at Possible Denuclearization Talks
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has declared that the United States currently holds the most powerful military force in the world, attributing the strength to major upgrades that occurred during his administration. Trump made the remarks on Wednesday while speaking at the American Business Forum in Miami, Florida.
According to Trump, the U.S. military now maintains superiority across all major defense systems. âI rebuilt the military. We have the strongest military by far in the world. We make the best equipment, the best missiles, the best rockets, the best everything,â he said.
He also emphasized the countryâs nuclear capabilities, noting that while the power is significant, the potential consequences of using such weapons remain concerning.
âWe redid our nuclear. Weâre the number one nuclear power, which I hate to admit because itâs so horrible. Itâs such a horrible situation if it ever has to be used,â Trump stated.
The former President compared U.S. nuclear capacity to that of Russia and China. He said Russia ranks second while China remains âa distant third,â but suggested that China could catch up within the next few years. âThey want to catch us and theyâll be able to catch us,â he warned.
Trump further revealed that talks could be underway to explore possible nuclear arms reduction. âWeâre maybe working on a plan to denuclearize the three of us. Weâll see if that works,â he said, suggesting a potential trilateral effort involving the U.S., Russia, and China.
However, there was no immediate confirmation from the U.S. government or the governments of Russia and China regarding such plans.
