OPERATION FASAN YAMMA: THEATRE COMMANDER ORDERS TROOPS TO INTENSIFY ONSLAUGHT AGAINST BANDITS IN NORTH-WEST

The Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force (North West) Operation Fasan Yamma (OPFY), Major-General W. B. Idris, has directed troops of the 8 Division and Sector 2 OPFY to intensify their operations and ensure the total elimination of armed bandits across the North-West region.

The directive was disclosed in a statement issued by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 8 Division Nigerian Army, Lieutenant-Colonel Olaniyi Osoba.

According to the statement, Major-General Idris gave the order during his maiden operational assessment visit to the 8 Division and Sector 2 at Giginya Barracks, Sokoto.

Addressing the troops, the Theatre Commander emphasized that the visit was aimed at evaluating ongoing operational activities, reviewing training procedures, and assessing the welfare of soldiers wounded in action.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the military leadership to restoring peace and stability to the North-West, urging officers and men to remain resolute, focused, and professional in the discharge of their duties.
