Federal Government says Borno attack won’t deter ongoing security operations

The Federal Government has vowed that the latest attack in Borno State will not slow ongoing security operations against insurgents in the North-East.
In a statement issued after an emergency security briefing, authorities condemned the assault, describing it as a cowardly attempt to instill fear among residents and undermine recent gains recorded by the military.

According to officials, security agencies have been directed to intensify land and air surveillance, close identified escape routes, and strengthen coordination with local vigilantes and community leaders. Additional troops and logistics are being deployed to protect vulnerable communities, while humanitarian teams are being supported to assist displaced families.

The government reassured citizens that investigations are underway to track the masterminds and their sponsors, promising that those responsible will face justice. It urged residents to remain calm, cooperate with security personnel, and report suspicious movements.

Reiterating its commitment, the government noted that peace and stability in Borno — and across the country — remain top priorities, adding that the momentum against insurgency will be sustained until normalcy fully returns.
