CAN Commends Tinubu’s Renewed Efforts to Strengthen National Security
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it described as renewed and encouraging efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture.
CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, gave the commendation on Friday after a meeting with President Tinubu and his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, at their Ikoyi residence in Lagos.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Archbishop Okoh said the relative absence of attacks in recent times was a clear indication of the government’s commitment to improving security across the country.
“We are seeing the renewed efforts and commitment to strengthen the security architecture and to ensure that Nigerians are going out in peace and coming back in peace,” he said.
While acknowledging that challenges still remain, the CAN president expressed optimism about the direction of the administration, noting that President Tinubu had made a positive start.
“Of course, there is still a lot to be done, but we know that the President has started very well, and we hope and pray that this will be sustained. We also hope that by next year, we will be able to see more visible results of what is being done now,” Okoh added.
The meeting underscores ongoing engagement between the Federal Government and religious leaders on issues of national unity, peace, and security.
