Tinubu Assures Nigerians of Improved Security, Seeks CAN’s Support
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday assured Nigerians that the ongoing recalibration of the nation’s security architecture would soon begin to produce positive results that will “gladden the hearts” of citizens across the country.
The President gave the assurance while hosting a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos.
President Tinubu said his administration remains fully committed to addressing Nigeria’s security challenges through far-reaching reforms, including plans to establish state and community policing as part of efforts to change the country’s security narrative.
According to him, the security measures currently being implemented require time to mature before their full impact can be felt nationwide, stressing that his government is laying a solid foundation for sustainable peace and safety.
The President also called on CAN to collaborate closely with his administration in achieving Nigeria’s collective aspirations, noting that unity, cooperation, and patience were critical to the success of ongoing reforms.
In his remarks, Archbishop Okoh commended the President for his renewed focus on security, expressing optimism that the steps taken so far would lead to lasting improvements across the country.
The meeting underscored the administration’s engagement with key religious and community stakeholders as part of a broader strategy to promote peace, stability, and national cohesion.
