Bandits Kill Four, Rustle Cattle in Niger State Amid Rising Attacks
Kasuan Daji, Niger State â Bandits have once again struck in Kasuan Daji, located in the Borgu Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State, killing at least four villagers and rustling scores of cattle.
This marks the second violent attack in the area within one week, following an earlier massacre that claimed the lives of no fewer than 42 villagers in Borgu LGA and the adjoining Agwara LGA.
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, who had traveled to Saudi Arabia to perform the lesser Hajj, returned to Nigeria on Thursday. He is scheduled to visit the troubled local government areas today and Monday to assess the situation.
Following the latest attack, the chairman of Borgu LGA, Alhaji Mohammed Abdullahi Nasiru, lamented that his community was under siege by terrorists and bandits. He has appealed to relevant authorities to intervene urgently, stating, âSave my people from further massacre.â
The repeated attacks underscore the growing security challenges in Niger State, highlighting the urgent need for intensified measures to protect communities in vulnerable areas.
