AEDC Explains Power Outage At PCC, FCT Court, NHRC, RMRDC, Others
The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has explained the recent power outage affecting key public institutions, including the Police Complaint Commission (PCC), FCT High Court, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC).
According to AEDC, the disruption was caused by a technical fault on a major feeder supplying parts of the Central Business District and surrounding areas. The company said the fault occurred during routine load management and network maintenance operations aimed at improving overall power stability.
AEDC noted that its technical teams were immediately deployed to the affected locations to isolate the fault, replace damaged components and restore supply as quickly as possible. The firm added that the outage was not targeted at any specific institution but was part of a wider network challenge affecting multiple customers.
The distribution company apologized to affected government offices, businesses and residents for the inconvenience caused, assuring customers that measures have been put in place to prevent a recurrence. AEDC further advised customers to report power issues promptly through its official customer care channels to enable faster response and resolution.
