FCT Strike: NLC, TUC Direct Workers To Resume Immediately

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have directed workers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to immediately resume work following the suspension of the ongoing strike action. The directive came after fresh negotiations between labour leaders and representatives of the Federal Government, as well as the FCT Administration, which reportedly yielded progress on key demands including wage arrears, welfare packages, and improved working conditions.

According to labour sources, the decision was taken to allow dialogue to continue while essential services across Abuja are restored. The unions urged public servants, teachers, health workers, and other affected employees to return to their duty posts, stressing that the suspension of the strike does not mean the withdrawal of demands.

NLC and TUC leaders warned that they would not hesitate to reintroduce industrial action if agreements reached with the authorities are breached. They also appealed to workers to remain calm and vigilant as discussions continue, assuring them that their interests remain the top priority.
