The Pentagon has identified four of the first American soldiers killed in the ongoing war against Iran, as the administration of former President Donald Trump warns that the escalating conflict could result in more US casualties.
According to military officials, six US service members have been confirmed dead so far. Four of the fallen troops were members of an Iowa-based unit of the United States Army Reserve. They were killed on Sunday when a drone struck a US military facility in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait.
The soldiers were assigned to the 103rd Sustainment Command headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa — a key logistics formation responsible for global supply and operational support missions.
The military identified three of the fallen soldiers as:
Captain Cody A. Khork, 35, of Winter Haven, Florida
Sergeant 1st Class Noah L. Tietjens, 42, of Bellevue, Nebraska
Sergeant 1st Class Nicole M. Amor, 39, of White Bear Lake
The Department of Defense stated that the soldiers were between the ages of 20 and 42 and were deployed in support of US operations in the Middle East when the attack occurred.
Officials say investigations are ongoing into the drone strike, which marks a significant escalation in hostilities linked to the widening confrontation with Iran. The latest development has raised fresh concerns over regional stability and the safety of American personnel stationed across strategic military installations in the Gulf region.
