FG Assures Support as Humanitarian Minister Visits Jos Attack Victims
The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting victims of the recent violent attacks in Jos, as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, paid a condolence visit to affected communities.
During the visit, the minister met with survivors, displaced families, and local leaders, expressing the governmentâs deep sympathy over the tragic loss of lives and destruction of property. She assured victims that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to providing urgent relief and long-term rehabilitation support.
According to the minister, immediate interventions including food supplies, medical assistance, and temporary shelter have already been deployed through relevant agencies. She added that the government is working closely with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to ensure a coordinated response that meets the needs of the affected population.
Community leaders in Jos commended the federal governmentâs swift response but called for sustained security measures to prevent further attacks. They urged authorities to address the root causes of recurring violence in the region.
The minister also reiterated the governmentâs commitment to restoring peace and stability in Plateau State, stressing that security agencies have been directed to intensify efforts to protect lives and property.
