Kwankwaso: I Have Not Declared for Presidency or Endorsed Any Aspirant

The former Kano State Governor and leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has clarified that he has neither declared interest in the 2027 presidential race nor endorsed any political aspirant.

Speaking amid growing speculation about realignments within opposition blocs ahead of the next general elections, Kwankwaso dismissed circulating claims linking him to early endorsements or backdoor negotiations with other political figures.

He emphasized that discussions about endorsements or presidential ambitions are premature and misleading, urging supporters and the public to disregard what he described as political rumors.

Kwankwaso, who ran for president in the 2023 elections under the NNPP platform, has remained a significant figure in Nigeria’s opposition politics, particularly in the northern region. His political movement, popularly known as the Kwankwasiyya movement, continues to attract attention as 2027 political calculations begin to unfold.

Analysts say his statement may be aimed at managing internal party expectations and avoiding early factional tensions within opposition ranks.
