2027: Atiku, Amaechi, Hayatudeen Pick Up ADC Presidential Nomination Forms
Leading political figures in Nigeria have intensified preparations for the 2027 presidential election as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, and prominent economist Mohammed Hayatudeen officially picked up presidential nomination forms under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The development has heightened political activities within the opposition party as aspirants begin consultations and nationwide mobilization ahead of the party primaries. Supporters of the contenders gathered at the ADC national secretariat in Abuja, expressing optimism that the party could emerge as a strong alternative in the 2027 general elections.
Atiku Abubakar, who contested previous presidential elections, reiterated his commitment to economic reforms, national unity, and improved governance. Rotimi Amaechi also promised to focus on infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and security if elected president.
Mohammed Hayatudeen, known for his background in banking and economic policy, emphasized the need for economic diversification, job creation, and institutional reforms to reposition Nigeriaâs economy.
Political analysts believe the entry of the three influential figures into the ADC presidential race may reshape opposition politics and increase competition ahead of the 2027 polls. Party officials have assured members of a transparent and credible primary process.
