Bandits Abduct Kwara Monarch’s Wives, Children, Attack Police Station

Suspected bandits have reportedly abducted the wives and children of a traditional ruler in Kwara State after launching a violent attack on a local community and nearby police station. The incident, which has heightened fear among residents, occurred during a late-night raid by heavily armed gunmen.

According to local sources, the attackers stormed the monarch’s residence, firing sporadically before whisking away members of the royal family to an unknown destination. During the operation, the gunmen also targeted a police station in the area, damaging parts of the facility and forcing officers and residents to flee for safety.

Security operatives were later deployed to the affected community, while efforts have commenced to rescue the kidnapped victims and track down the perpetrators. Residents have expressed growing concerns over worsening insecurity in parts of Kwara State, calling on the government and security agencies to intensify protection across vulnerable communities.

Authorities are yet to officially confirm the number of abducted victims, but community leaders say tension remains high as families await updates on the fate of those kidnapped.
