Student Upkeep Payments Continue — NELFUND Assures Beneficiaries

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has confirmed that student upkeep payments under the federal student loan scheme are continuing without interruption. The agency says disbursements are being processed in batches to ensure all verified beneficiaries receive their entitlements.

According to the agency, the upkeep component is designed to support students in tertiary institutions with monthly financial assistance to ease living costs such as accommodation, feeding, and study materials. Officials explained that delays experienced by some applicants are largely due to ongoing verification and institutional data synchronization.

NELFUND urged students to remain patient and ensure that their personal and institutional records are correctly submitted, noting that only successfully verified applicants are eligible for payment. The agency also reiterated its commitment to transparency and fairness in the distribution process.
