In separate condolence messages, President Tinubu and the Senate praised the late military officer for his professionalism, courage, and unwavering commitment to national unity. The President said Major General Abubakar's contributions to the Nigerian Armed Forces and his efforts in strengthening national security would remain indelible in the nation's history.

The Senate, through its leadership, also paid tribute to the former Defence spokesperson, noting that his years of service helped shape the country's security architecture. Lawmakers extended their condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues in the military community.
