Nigeria TV Info â NAF Airstrikes Kill Over 25 Terrorists in Yobe, Borno States
Abuja, Nigeria â The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that coordinated night airstrikes carried out by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (ACOPHD) on Thursday eliminated more than 25 terrorists in Yobe and Borno States.
The operation, conducted in Bula, Yobe State, and Banki, Borno State, followed credible intelligence reports from ground troops, according to a statement issued on Saturday by NAFâs Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.
He explained that a force package comprising Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) assets, along with attack aircraft, was deployed. The ISR platform, he noted, successfully tracked terrorist movements and identified multiple hostile groups north of Banki.
âSubsequently, the strike aircraft engaged the terrorists in three successive precision strikes on their movement routes and assembly areas, effectively eliminating more than 25 fighters,â Ejodame stated.
He added that post-strike surveillance confirmed ground troops had secured defensive positions in the affected areas, with no further threats observed.
The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) also reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safe return of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to their ancestral communities, stressing that operations of this nature are critical to restoring peace and stability across the North-east.
Ejodame emphasized that the success of the mission underscores NAFâs resolve to support ground forces, deny terrorists freedom of movement, and enhance security in the region.
