The University of Ibadan (UI) has once again emerged as Nigeria’s best university for the year 2026, according to the latest global university rankings released by the Times Higher Education (THE). The ranking, which assessed universities based on teaching, research quality, international outlook, and societal impact, placed UI ahead of other leading Nigerian institutions.

Following UI on the national list are Covenant University, Obafemi Awolowo University, University of Lagos, and University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
