Lagos Court Orders Interim Forfeiture of Pretty Mike’s Proxy Night Club Over Drug Allegations
The Federal High Court in Lagos has granted the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) an interim forfeiture order on Proxy Night Club, a popular entertainment spot owned by Lagos socialite and nightclub promoter, Mike Nwalie, widely known as Pretty Mike.
Justice Musa Kakaki issued the order following a motion filed by the NDLEA, effectively ordering the immediate closure and suspension of all activities at the Victoria Island-based club. The premises will remain sealed until January 28, 2026, when the case will come up for hearing to determine its final forfeiture.
The development stems from an NDLEA operation carried out on October 26, during which operatives reportedly recovered 169 canisters of nitrous oxide (commonly known as “laughing gas”), 200 grams of cannabis, and arrested over 200 partygoers.
According to NDLEA, the raid was triggered by intelligence linking the nightclub to a drug-themed party. The agency stated that its officers infiltrated the event and shut down operations in the early hours of the morning to prevent further illicit drug consumption.
