Trump Signs Bill Ordering Release of Epstein Files Following Pressure

US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he has signed a bill mandating the release of all files related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The legislation directs the US Department of Justice to make all information from its Epstein investigation available “in a searchable and downloadable format” within 30 days.

Previously, President Trump had opposed releasing the files. However, he reversed his position last week after mounting pressure from Epstein’s victims and members of his own Republican Party. With his endorsement, the bill passed both chambers of Congress, receiving overwhelming support in the House of Representatives and unanimous consent in the Senate.
