IGP Egbetokun Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening Police Force, Unveils Mascot for 15th Nigeria Police Games

Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to building a stronger, more disciplined, and community-focused Nigeria Police Force.

Speaking yesterday in Abuja during the official unveiling of the mascot logo for the 15th Nigeria Police Games slated for Asaba, the IGP said the force under his leadership is evolving into a “disciplined, fit, focused, and community-centred organisation.”

Egbetokun described sports as one of the most effective tools for shaping and refining the character, unity, and professionalism of police personnel, noting that the Nigeria Police Games have over the years become a symbol of excellence within the force.

According to him, the Games consistently showcase the finest qualities of officers and have helped preserve a rich legacy of sportsmanship within the Nigeria Police.

The IGP emphasized that while safeguarding the force’s sporting heritage remains important, his administration is equally committed to raising standards across all spheres.

He also expressed gratitude to Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for the state's readiness to host the 2026 edition of the Games. He praised Delta State for its well-known culture of sporting excellence and expressed confidence that Asaba will deliver a memorable and befitting event for the Nigeria Police Force.
