JAMB Refutes Postponement Rumours, Confirms UTME Will Hold as Scheduled

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has dismissed widespread rumours suggesting that the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has been postponed, assuring candidates and stakeholders that the examination will proceed as originally scheduled.

In a statement released by the board’s spokesperson, JAMB described the circulating information as false, misleading, and the handiwork of mischief-makers seeking to create confusion among candidates. The board urged the public to disregard unofficial announcements not communicated through its verified channels.

JAMB emphasized that all necessary logistics and preparations have been put in place to ensure a smooth and credible examination process nationwide. It reassured candidates that accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres are fully equipped and ready to conduct the examination without disruption.

The board further advised candidates to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to fake news, warning that reliance on unverified information could negatively impact their examination plans. Candidates were encouraged to consistently check the official JAMB website and trusted media platforms for accurate updates.

Parents, guardians, and school authorities were also called upon to support candidates by ensuring they adhere strictly to examination guidelines and schedules.

JAMB reiterated its commitment to maintaining the integrity and credibility of the UTME, noting that any changes, if necessary, would be officially communicated in a timely manner.
