Plateau Community Mourns As Fresh Attack Claims 11 Lives
At least 11 persons have been confirmed dead following a renewed attack on Ngbra Zongo community of Kwall District in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, deepening fears over worsening insecurity in the region.
The latest violence has thrown residents into mourning, with local communities expressing concerns over repeated attacks and the continued loss of innocent lives in Plateau State. Troops Repel ISWAP Attack In Borno
Meanwhile, troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai successfully repelled an attack launched by suspected Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) insurgents on a military base in Magumeri, Borno State.
According to security sources, the confrontation led to a fierce gun battle during which two soldiers lost their lives, while scores of ISWAP fighters were reportedly killed as troops pushed back the assault.
Military personnel are said to have demonstrated resilience in defending the base, preventing insurgents from gaining access to strategic positions in the area.
The renewed attack in Plateau and the attempted assault in Borno have again highlighted growing concerns about insecurity across parts of Nigeria, with citizens urging authorities to intensify security operations and improve intelligence gathering.
