Galadima, FCT’s Head of Demolition Squad, Bows Out After Over 30 Years of Service

After more than three decades of service with the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Mukhtar Galadima, head of its demolition squad, has officially stepped down. Galadima tendered his resignation effective immediately, stating that he leaves with deep gratitude and a strong sense of fulfilment for the work achieved during his tenure.

During his time in the role, Galadima led numerous clearance operations under the FCTA’s mandate to enforce regulations in the capital territory. His departure marks the end of an era for the demolition unit, which has been at the frontline of urban renewal and regulatory enforcement in the FCT. Galadima emphasised that the decision to bow out comes at a time when he believes the team is well-placed to continue its mission.

The FCTA has yet to announce his successor. Stakeholders in the capital territory await further communication on how the transition will be managed and what strategic direction the demolition squad will adopt moving forward in urban planning and enforcement.
