Nigeria Will Surely Overcome Insecurity, Akpabio Assures Nigerians At Easter
Nigeriaâs Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has expressed strong optimism that the country will overcome its lingering insecurity challenges, urging citizens not to lose hope despite ongoing threats across various regions.
In his Easter message released on Sunday, Akpabio emphasized the significance of the season as a symbol of sacrifice, renewal, and victory over adversity. He noted that just as Easter represents triumph after suffering, Nigeria too will emerge stronger from its current security struggles.
The Senate President acknowledged the concerns of Nigerians over rising cases of banditry, kidnapping, insurgency, and communal clashes. However, he assured that the government, in collaboration with security agencies, is intensifying efforts to restore peace and stability nationwide.
Akpabio called for unity among citizens, stressing that insecurity is a collective challenge that requires cooperation between government and the people. He urged Nigerians to support security forces with credible information and remain vigilant in their communities.
He also appealed to political leaders and stakeholders to set aside differences and work together in the national interest, adding that sustainable peace can only be achieved through dialogue, inclusiveness, and justice.
Highlighting ongoing legislative support, Akpabio stated that the National Assembly remains committed to passing laws and approving resources that will strengthen security architecture and improve the welfare of security personnel.
He further encouraged Nigerians to use the Easter period to pray for the nation, its leaders, and security operatives who continue to risk their lives in the line of duty.
âJust as Christ conquered death, Nigeria will overcome insecurity. We must remain steadfast, united, and hopeful,â he said.
Akpabio concluded by wishing Christians across the country a peaceful Easter celebration, urging them to extend love and compassion to one another in the spirit of the season.
