UTME Results for Underage Candidates Yet to Be Released – JAMB
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed that it has not yet released the results of underage candidates who participated in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a statement issued by its Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, the board clarified that candidates below the approved age threshold will continue to see a “No Result Yet” status when attempting to check their scores.
JAMB explained that the delay is not due to any technical fault but is a deliberate policy decision affecting only underage candidates. According to the board, only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, are eligible to sit for the examination and access their results immediately.
The examination body further stated that results for underage candidates are being withheld pending additional screening processes. It noted that exceptional candidates may still be considered if they demonstrate outstanding academic ability. Such candidates are required to score a minimum of 320 in the UTME and meet further screening criteria before their results can be processed for possible admission consideration.
The clarification follows widespread concerns from parents and guardians over the persistent “No Result Yet” message displayed for some candidates. JAMB reassured the public that the system is functioning properly and that the status applies specifically to underage applicants.
Meanwhile, the board has continued releasing results for other candidates who meet the age requirement, as part of its phased release process for the 2026 UTME.
