Tinubu’s Wife Donates N100m Empowerment Grants to 2,000 Ekiti Women
Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has announced a N100 million empowerment grant for 2,000 women in Ekiti State to support small businesses and improve livelihoods across the state.
The announcement was made during a women’s gathering held at the Ekiti Pavilion in Ado Ekiti, where the First Lady also urged residents to continue supporting the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji ahead of the state’s governorship election.
According to Mrs. Tinubu, 2,000 women will receive N50,000 each as financial support for their businesses. She emphasized that the grant is not a loan but a direct intervention designed to help women expand their economic activities and strengthen household incomes.
During the visit, the First Lady also inaugurated an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre at Ekiti State University through her Renewed Hope Initiative, aimed at improving digital learning opportunities for students and young people in the state.
Speaking at the event, Ekiti First Lady Olayemi Oyebanji thanked women in the state for their support and encouraged them to participate actively in the upcoming election. Governor Oyebanji also expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu and the First Lady for their continued support, noting that federal assistance has contributed significantly to developmental projects in the state.
The empowerment programme is part of ongoing efforts by the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative to promote economic inclusion, support women entrepreneurs, and improve the welfare of vulnerable groups across Nigeria.
