Nigeria TV Info â Kwara Governor Moves to Restore Calm in Oke-Ode Amid Bandit Attacks
Oke-Ode, Kwara State â Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has assured residents that joint security forces are working tirelessly to restore lasting peace in Oke-Ode and other communities recently attacked by suspected bandits.
The governor gave the assurance on Thursday during a condolence visit to Oke-Ode town in Ifelodun Local Government Area, where he sympathized with families who lost loved ones to the attacks.
Governor AbdulRazaq was accompanied by key security officials, including the Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo; the State Director of DSS; the State Commandant of NSCDC, Dr. Umar Mohammed; his Senior Special Assistant on Security, Muyideen Aliyu; and the Chairman of Ifelodun LGA, Hon. Femi Yusuf.
During the visit, the governor offered prayers for the repose of the souls of the victims, praised the security agencies for their resilience, and reassured residents that peace would soon return to the affected areas.
He also extended condolences and solidarity to other communities impacted by the violence, including Ifelodun, Irepodun, Isin, Ekiti, Edu, and Patigi LGAs.
âWe have come to commiserate with the community over the attacks. It is also to commend the security forces, forest guards, and vigilante groups for repelling the criminals and working to restore peace,â AbdulRazaq stated.
âItâs been quite challenging. But everything is being put in place to mitigate the effects of these incidents and ensure such occurrences are brought to an end,â he added.
