Nigeria TV Info â Over 150 Nigerian Returnees Arrive from Niger Republic Under Assisted Voluntary Return Programme
Kano, Nigeria (October 25, 2025) â The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), has successfully received 150 Nigerian returnees from Agadez, Niger Republic.
The Kano Operations Office of NEMA announced the reception of the returnees at Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano. This initiative forms part of the ongoing Assisted Voluntary Return (AVR) programme supported by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in partnership with the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Upon arrival, officials from the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) carried out biometric registration and proper documentation for all returnees to ensure accurate records and facilitate smooth reintegration into the country.
The returnees comprised 88 adult males, 32 adult females, 14 male children, and 16 female children.
In line with the Federal Governmentâs commitment to the safe, dignified, and humane return of its citizens, the returnees were provided with essential services, including food, water, and medical care to address immediate nutritional and health needs before undergoing profiling by the agency.
NEMA emphasized that these efforts underscore the governmentâs ongoing dedication to supporting the welfare and reintegration of Nigerians returning from abroad.
