Rescue lawyer kidnapped in Kogi, NBA urges FG

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has called on the Federal Government and security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue a lawyer abducted in Kogi State. The victim, reportedly seized by gunmen along a highway, was said to be on his way from court when the attackers struck.

NBA President, Yakubu Maikyau, condemned the incident, describing it as another sad reminder of the worsening insecurity across the country. He urged the government to act swiftly to secure the release of the lawyer and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.

The association further reiterated its demand for improved security measures to protect citizens, particularly legal practitioners who frequently travel across unsafe routes in the line of duty.

Residents of Kogi have continued to raise alarm over rising cases of abduction in the state, with many calling for urgent intervention from both state and federal authorities.
